Copper Tubs

Make your bathroom extraordinary with a luxurious hammered copper tub. Our selection of copper tubs offers a variety of styles, including double ended, double slipper, and slipper copper tubs. The natural warmth of a copper soaking tub creates a relaxing environment, inspiring comfort for the perfect bathroom retreat.

Why Choose a Copper Tub?

Copper tubs are not only stylish, but they also offer a range of benefits that go beyond their visual appeal. Check out the unique advantages that make copper bathtubs a luxurious addition to any bathroom.

It’s Great for Your Health

Copper is naturally antimicrobial, eliminating more than 99% of many kinds of bacteria within a few hours.

A Copper Patina Only Gets More Beautiful With Age

Copper also has a living finish, which means if the tub is scratched it will heal itself. Within time you’ll notice the scratch begin to darken and blend in. In fact, copper gets even more beautiful with age.

It’s Low-Maintenance

To help maintain the beauty of your copper clawfoot tub, simply rinse with water and dry completely with a soft cloth after each use to prevent spotting. Make sure to avoid using abrasive chemicals or cleaning products on your copper bathtub.

It Makes a Statement

If you have an interest in design, you know that a striking focal point can really transform a room. Most bathtubs are plain white acrylic, so a freestanding tub with a copper finish can bring your bathroom’s aesthetic to a whole new level.

It Might Help Prevent Wrinkles

Copper tubs might not be the first thing you picture when you think of beauty products. However, some research suggests that copper encourages the restoration of your body’s connective tissue. This is great for general health, but it may also help prevent wrinkles.

What to Look for When Shopping for Copper Tubs

Copper tubs aren’t all the same. If your bathroom is the focus of your next home improvement project — and you want to make sure you include a copper bathtub — these are some things to look for when making your decision.

Soaking Depth

You might have heard of a Japanese soaking tub. It is a small, very deep bathtub that allows you to soak while sitting upright. Traditional bathtubs tend to be longer and shallower, making it easier to lie down in the tub.

We offer a wide variety of copper tubs in different soaking depths. If you prefer a more traditional tub, you might prefer the shallower 14” depth. However, if you’d like something close to the experience of the Japanese soaking bathtub, you might prefer our ultra-deep tubs, which have soaking depths of 22” or more.

Tub Length

Some people like to sit upright as they relax in the warm water. Others like to lean back and stretch out. Your bathtub should be a sanctuary, so our freestanding bathtub selections come in a few different lengths. Our shortest copper tubs are 55” long. If you’re very tall or just really like to stretch out, you might prefer our larger tubs — they’re up to 72” long!

Installation Type

If you’ve purchased a bathtub before, you might already be familiar with some of the main types of tub installations. While fiberglass or acrylic tubs can often be installed as drop-in or alcove tubs, our copper options are available only as freestanding tubs. That way, you can admire the unforgettable finish.

Style

All our copper bath offerings are freestanding tubs, but they come in a few different styles.

Slipper

Slipper tubs (sometimes called “single slipper” bathtubs) are so named because they look like slippers: both ends are rounded, but one end is higher than the other. In this cozy design, you can comfortably lean your back and shoulders against the higher end and stretch your legs out into the lower end.

Double Slipper

Many of our offerings are copper double-slipper tubs. As you may have guessed, double slipper tubs have a raised end on either side that acts as the “heel” of the slipper. They dip down in the middle, creating a dynamic but symmetrical design.

Double Ended

Double-ended tubs have gently sloped ends, so one can lean back and relax against either end. Technically, double slipper tubs are also double-ended. But for the sake of clarity, the tubs we’ve categorized as “double-ended” don’t have the dip in the middle like the double slipper tubs do.

Drain Location

In all the excitement of choosing your new tub’s style and finish, it’s easy to forget more mundane things like drain placement. If you’re going for a more traditional look, choose a tub with a center drain. If you prefer the drain placement on a more typical bathtub, pick one with an end drain.

Finish

Copper tubs come in more finishes than you might think:

  • Antique Copper: Many hand-hammered, premier copper products have this finish, which makes them look beautifully aged
  • Brown Copper: A deep, elegant shade that’s darker than medium copper but doesn’t have the vintage look of antique copper
  • Medium Copper: The shiny, penny-like finish most people associate with copper
  • Satin Nickel: A bright, silvery finish that’s sometimes used on the inside of copper tubs to create a two-tone look

Keep in mind that copper’s finish evolves over time, so the tub you buy is likely to darken over the years. If you wish, you can select a finish that matches your faucet and other bathroom hardware. Mixing metals can also create an interesting aesthetic.

Shape

Our copper tubs come in two shapes: oval and rectangular. Oval tubs look more vintage, and rectangular tubs have a more modern appearance.

Brand

We’re committed to quality, so we stock copper tubs from two high-end manufacturers: Randolph Morris and Sierra Copper.

Price

Copper tubs are often more expensive than other tubs, but they last a lifetime. More affordable options are around $3,000, and luxury tubs can cost $18,000 or even more.
