Tub Package 54-inch Clawfoot Bathtub with Free-Standing English Telephone Faucet
Vintage style in a small space
I purchased this vintage looking cast iron tub since we were converting a 5'x8' closet space in our century old home into a small bath. It wasn't possible to install a standard size tub, and Vintage tubs were the only place I was able to find an old fashioned look in the right size. It fit perfectly, looks original and is quite beautiful, while adding a significant value to our home. Since I'm petite, the tub is very comfortable for a lenghty soak, but my six foot husband finds it a bit cramped, so I would recommend a standard length for those who have enough square footage to accomodate it. Acrylic would have been easier to install, since the cast iron is quite heavy. In spite of the weight, my husband and I were able to pack the tub up the stairs and through the narrow door of the new bath. During the hauling process I would have paid anything for acrylic, but once installed, I am thrilled with the authentic and solid feel.
