72-inch Sunrise Specialty Double Slipper Clawfoot Tub - 8-inch Rim Drillings - White Porcelain Interior
Double slipper tub
We purchased this tub for our new home. I am disappointed with the width. The tub is too narrow to get into and out of . There is no way two people can enjoy the uniqueness of a double slipper tub. We also purchased the option of having the tub predrilled for a rim mounted faucet. This was a mistake. Because of the narrow width of the tub, this makes it more difficult to get out of the tub. Faucets mounted outside of the tub would be better.

Water depth only 13", at best.
I called Sunrise Specialty and had them give me the maximum water depth, and they went out to their showroom and *measured* the tub, and came back with 13". That's 13 according to the manufacturer, not 14 as stated in the description above - the description is wrong! Measuring my own tub, myself, from the floor of the tub to the bottom of the overflow drain I get 12" (see photograph). The overflow drain hole is 2.5" diameter, so a depth of 13-1/4" should be possible with an overflow drain cover that covers the bottom half of the hole (yes, vintage tub does sell those). With a normal drain cover, however, the depth would be about 12-1/4". I'm only keeping the tub because I found a plastic overflow drain cover that will let me get the water height up to about 15". Incidentally, I measured the floor to rim height as 17", which more or less agrees with the schematics specification of 17-1/2". On a more positive note, my contractor says he's never seen a tub better packed in its crate, in 30+ years of doing business. Ordering this thing over the internet was not a shipping or transport issue.
