Very Vintage This set up is of very good quality and is beautiful. I would recommend install by a pro plumber - our contractor (with 30 + years experience) talked us into letting him install it and we wound up having to get a plumber out after to fix the leaks. Having said that, I don't think it was any fault of the product. We get a ton of complements and love it! May 19, 2012
the shower enclosure was poor quality Everything with this product package was beautiful until we got to the shower enclosure. The material was very light and not of the high quality of the other parts. It was easily bendable and we had to re-configure attaching the tubing so it would not be moveable and hopefully support the weight of a very light shower curtain. I was very disappointed. We have installed this same kind of product before (different manufacturer) many years ago and it is still strong and supporting well. I would not recommend this product for a DIY'er as the installation is very tricky. The hand-held shower and rain head and especially the faucet were of high quality and would highly recommend...just get another supplier for the shower enclosure. August 24, 2011
Shower Kit I ordered this product on 3 Dec 2010, I received it UPS 9 Dec 2010...all I can say is WOW! The product is beautiful and above my expectations in quality. My contractor has yet to install it, so I will let you know how that goes. I am a little disappointed in the finish of the color, it looks more like black verses oil rubbed bronze...but fortunately for me, I will hardly notice in my bathroom. Will buy again! Looks beautiful I had my contractor install the faucet set. We did not receive a part to connect the hand shower to the rest of it. Instead of waiting for a part from Vintage Tub, we found a vendor here that had a part that would work. Without it, we wouldn't have been able to have the hand held hooked up to a water source. The fixtures, the shower ring all flawless and fantastic looking, however, the contractor had a very difficult time getting it not to leak. With all the issues with the tub & fixtures, it did put us back a week or so waiting for parts, but I would do it all over again. The bathroom turned out beautiful, I love our new shower, and the quality & finish of the fixtures from Vintage Tub was a huge part of that. November 7, 2010
riser is ok Installation instructions could be better. I suggest labelling the boxes of parts that come in the larger marked boxes. The diagrams provided are simplistic. If you mention a part number, then mark that part no. on the box it came in. I think this is a DIY project and the instructions should cater to that. If a plumber wants to buy from your site, then provide different instructions. I assume plunbers should be experienced or have the tools and extra parts needed to install. July 22, 2010
installation I really like how this shower looks and now that we have it up and running it is great. That being said it did take some patience to get it not to leak. A tip for anyone installing 1) plumbers tape is your friend on all connections 2) even the instructions acknowlegde that one of the washers might not be the right size and that you might have to cut it down.... do not use scissors or you will be ordering a new part from dealer cause they don't sell the washer in stores instead use some sand paper and file out the inside of the washer and continue to check to see if it will fit. It took us hours to sand and check and sand and check. You need someone with patience to help you put this together.Hope this helps! April 2, 2010
Too much money - Too many issues I am a full time contractor and I've gotta say this particular item is a complete pain. I was told you could only order the thing as a complete package (telephone hand-set attachment included), but when you receive the packages, each piece has it's own line item and amount that it cost. I didn't want the hand held shower attachment, but ended up paying and extra $150 - $200.00 just so I could get the shower extension for the tub. The installation wasn't too difficult, but the surround portion that holds the shower curtain is very flimsy and bounces all over the place once its installed. Also, it was pretty tough to get it level on two planes. The worst part, is that the shower head that comes included with the kit does not fit the shower extension tubing. They send a 3/4'' ID to fit on a 1/2'' OD threaded pipe. Not even an adaptor to make it fit. I've been waiting for over a week for the proper shower head or attachment to make the current one fit. So far, not even an email addressing the problem even though I spent over a half hour on the phone dealing with customer service. I realize I can buy the piece at a plumbing supply store, but for the money I spent on the 4 pieces of pipe, a shower head that doesn't fit and a dozen or so fasteners (almost $700.00), its now become a matter of principle that the correct items show up with the order. All in all, the kit does look nice, but the quality and parts list is definitely not worth the money. Vintage bath was very helpful on the phone trying to correct the issues, but as I have said, I am now over a week past my finish deadline for this project all becuase the wrong parts (or missing parts) were shipped. If I were you, I'd make the surround out of black pipe or copper yourself and forego to entire surround portion. Better yet, it would be cheaper and easier to simply fabricate the entire thing, so long as you don't mind the extension pipes not matching in color to the faucet. November 2, 2009
Needs to come with instructions I love this shower head now that it is installed. We had a professional install it and he was very confused and needed all our help plus pictures from online. But now it works fantastic and looks great too. This really needs to come with more instructions!!!!!!! October 13, 2009
