authentic look and feel Our 1900 home was in sad disrepair. The tiny front hall powder room was particularly mistreated, subject to multiple remodels starting as early as 1930, when a lathe and plaster wall was built dividing a casement window in two, creating a "fun house" wavy effect from ceiling to floor as it narrowed to fit between the panes. When 1900 mansion was torn down on Chicago's south side, I rescued many of its features, including a small pedestal sink, now installed in the enlarged and restored powder room.  The handles purchased at Vintage Tub and Bath match to perfection both the plumbing requirements of the sink and the aesthetics of the rest of the fixtures in the room, including a 1902 milk glass and brushed metal shelf and the unique shower head and regulator handle. The effect is fantastic:  No one can detect the new room was not part of the original house. I now leave the powder room door open so guests can see the faucets immediately on arrival!  May 29, 2012
