American Standard was founded in 1875, but did not carry this name until 1967. The company was originally Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company known strictly for plumbing. American Standard offers a wide range of products including bathroom sinks, toilets, lighting fixtures, showers, whirlpool tubs, numerous accessories, along with kitchen sinks and faucets.

It wasn't until the early 1900's that American Standard began producing toilets and built-in tubs. By 1929, just 54 years later, Standard became the world's largest bathroom fixture producer. In 2006, American Standard introduced The Speed Connection Drain. Today, American Standard is the world's leading kitchen and bath product manufacturer by reaching both consumer and commercial markets while creating satisfied customers in 40 countries.
