The Lone Star State has a new star in town. This remodeled Texan bathroom won “Best Bath” in “Top Twenty” of
Better Homes and Gardens magazine. The entire bathroom was remodeled using all Vintage Tub and Bath products
from the medicine cabinet and basin drop-in sinks, to the clawfoot tub (not to mention the tub coasters it
rests on).
This vintage-style farmhouse bathroom may look authentic with a cast iron clawfoot tub and two-piece
antique toilet, but was incredibly once a dim, overcrowded bathroom. With the addition of innovation and
charm through drip-free faucets, 1.6 gallon per flush toilet, and a double sink console created from antique
furniture, this bathroom is far from cramped and out-dated.
A new, wall-hung sliding door and ladder shelf adds charm while creating a much more spacious feeling.
Wood flooring may sound risky in a bathroom, but with the correct water proof sealant, it adds the “must
have” visual warmth to any bathroom.
The owners, David and Sharon Morris, were even able to stay within their $15,000 budget by doing all but
the flooring themselves.
Not only did the Morris’s receive the honor of winning the “Best Bath” category, but were also awarded
$1,000, a spread in the May 2007 Issue of Better Homes and Gardens, as well as being featured on a major
network TV special now playing around the country.
Thank you to David and Sharon Morris for sharing their stunning renovation project and providing great
inspiration for all amateur renovators.
